The Co-operative in West Wales has donated a £250 voucher Monkton Holiday Club to buy lunch supplies ahead of the summer holiday sessions that will see local children getting stuck in to fun and creative play opportunities.

Three hundred and sixty apples, 180 slices of ham, 24 litres of squash and 36 loaves of bread will all feature on the shopping list as organisers prepare four weeks worth of summer fun activities for six-10-yea-olds.

Ailsa Logan, Co-operative membership officer for West Wales, said: "The holiday club in Monkton is such a valuable asset to the community, we were more than happy to support by providing food for the children's packed lunches.

"Many of the activities on offer are both physical and stimulating so its important that the children get a nutritious lunch to see them through into the afternoon."

Monkton Holiday Club will pick up the food from The Co-operative Food store in Pembroke next month.
