The Pembroke Dock and District Sailing Club was founded in 1957 and was originally based in the Royal Dockyard, occupying a building that had formerly been the RAF Station's dental surgery. Now based at Hobbs Point and renamed Pembroke Haven Yacht Club, it celebrates its half century this year with a party to be held in September. Many members have come and gone over the years, and the club would like to invite as many former members as possible to join them in their celebrations, particularly those from the dockyard days. The present club committee are also keen to compile a history of the club and would like to hear from current or former members with any reminiscences, and old photographs, even if they can't make it to the party. The date of the 50th anniversary party will be announced as soon as it has been confirmed. In the meantime, anyone who would like to be invited to join in, and/or contribute their memories of the 'old days' is asked to contact the club by writing to the clubhouse at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock, or emailing [email protected]">[email protected].
