Cllr Jonathan Grimes has been voted in as Mayor Elect for Pembroke for the ensuing year, with his wife, Deborah who is also a Town Councillor becoming his Mayoress.
At the recent meeting of Pembroke Town Council, Cllr Aden Brinn, was voted in as Deputy Mayor Elect.
Cllr Grimes went on to say: "Becoming Mayor of Pembroke honestly means so much to me. This town has given me such a sense of community and to be given the chance to serve it in this way is something I’ll never take for granted.
“While we recognise that no community is without its challenges, what gives me unwavering confidence is the strength and character of our people. Pembroke is home to hardworking, compassionate, and community-minded individuals who care deeply for one another and for the place we are proud to call home. It is this spirit that truly defines our town.
“And there’s a lot to look forward to, with the ongoing regeneration project and a busy summer ahead. We’ve got energy, ideas, and a real sense of pride in our history and our future. I’m excited to get going, working with you all, and doing my bit to help Pembroke keep moving in the right direction.
“Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I am immensely proud to call Pembroke my home, and it is an even greater honour to serve as your Mayor for the next year of office."
Cllr Grimes is County Councillor for Pembroke Monkton and St Mary South, and sits on PCC’s Corporate Overview & Scrutiny Committee, Investigation and Disciplinary Committee and is a member of the Housing Revenue Account.
His outside bodies include Panel member of the Dyfed-Powys Police & Crime Panel, RWE Pembroke Power Station Community Liaison Committee and Valero Community Liaison Committee.
