Clive Lewis, 72-year-old voluntary UK events walker for West Wales hospital and clinic machines and equipment, is seen informally presenting one of his latest purchases to the Sunderland Ward of South Pembs Hospital in Pembroke Dock.
He literally stepped off the streets to view the machine. The blood machine will be a great help, not only for the patients, but also the staff of the hospital. It will be used for heart patients on anti-coagulation therapy.
Clive seized the opportunity while on a busy campaign of sponsorship in and around the town on Monday, meeting individuals and families and raising awareness of the important voluntary work he carries out to raise large amounts of funding from each UK event.
The walk he is currently planning will be the 15th he has undertaken and he will again liaise with managers to seek their individual needs from his latest target.
Clive is preparing to cover the Grand Union Canal towpath in early March, with the walk terminating at Limehouse Basin in the Shadwell area on the North Bank of the Thames in London.
"Thanks again to all people I met on Monday," said Clive. "It's a cracking challenge and a necessary cause. It is great to see all the past equipment in daily use in all departments throughout our county."
