Tenby Auxiliary Coastguard were called out last Thursday to assist police after a vehicle was reported to have gone over the cliffs near Skrinkle.

Police called in the Coastguard teams at around 6 pm to ascertain if anyone was in distress, but, despite finding a trail through the gorse above Church Door Bay, no trace of the vehicle could be found.

"There was no sign of anyone in trouble and we put a man over the cliffs to help the police gather evidence. We think the vehicle went straight into the water," explained Coastguard sector officer Dave Miller.

It is believed that the vehicle had been stolen from Pembroke Dock the previous day.

A team of specialist divers from South Wales Police marine unit was involved in a joint operations with the Coastguard on Werdnesday morning in a bid to locate evidence.
