Sir, Congratulations to Activity Wales on their move to their new premises, as featured in last week's Observer. However, I feel compelled to question some of the claims made in the article. The Holiday Information Centre, Deer Park, is NOT the 'only place that has retained these contracts'. At Ocky White Travel, in our town centre Tudor Square office, we too can offer Stena Line, Irish Ferries and indeed any other ferry operator. We, too, can provide National Express tickets from our head office in Haverfordwest. We are also fully ABTA bonded for our clients' financial protection. The claim that 'the withdrawal of all agents selling key services to the local marketplace throughout Wales is proof of this' is again unfounded. Ocky White Travel has been providing key services to the people of Pembrokeshire for over 40 years, and will continue to do so. Matthew Evans is correct, however, in his claim that the key to success is 'fabulous service that makes the difference for people who want more than a soulless on-line experience'. The two lady consultants at Ocky White Travel, Tenby, have more than 35 years relevant ABTA agency experience between them and their knowledge, skill and expertise cannot be replicated 'on-line'.
Mark White, Director, Ocky White Travel.
