The miserable weather has failed to put a damper on Narberth's ever-popular Civic Week. The annual event got off to a sunshine start on Sunday with the civic parade and service, while later in the day, 26 cars took part in the car treasure hunt. "Numbers have been a little down on previous years, but that's down to the weather and people in other areas not being able to come here on holiday," said Mayor and Civic Week chairman, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers. "We've still had lots of fun and everyone has enjoyed the events," she continued. "There was a good crowd at both the football training on Wednesday, which had to be held at the dome at Bloomfield, and the food quiz, while the baby show judge, Tenby's Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Kerri Durham, had a difficult job in selecting the winners in the baby show. "We are now keeping our fingers crossed for a fine and sunny day for carnival day tomorrow (Saturday)," she added. The carnival begins at 2 pm, with a park and ride service operating from Heron's Brook car park between 10 am and 1.30 pm and after the parade.
