TENBY Town Council held a special reception in the Mayor's Parlour last week to mark the completion of the town's new Lifeboat Station. Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, hosted the reception to thank all those involved with the project, including main contractors Dean and Dyball and representatives of the town's RNLI and lifeboat crews. "I have had a keen interest in the project right the way through from the initial idea," explained Clr. Mrs. Lane. "Like everyone else in Tenby, I have watched with fascination throughout the construction phase and now, as the project nears completion, Tenby Town Council felt it appropriate to thank all those involved for all their efforts. "The new lifeboat station will not only be a wonderful asset to the RNLI to assist them in their sterling work, but the design, and quality of build, will provide the town with another attractive feature to delight locals and visitors alike. "Thanks to everyone involved in the project, the RNLI in Tenby has gone from having virtually no facilities to having the best in the country." To mark the end of the project, Clr. Mrs. Lane presented a Tenby Town Council plaque to Tenby Lifeboat coxswain Alan Thomas for display in the new Lifeboat Station and Tenby town medallions to Mr. Ceirion Herbert, project manager, and Mr. Graham Williams, site manager for Dean and Dyball.
