THERE have been extra special birthday celebrations recently for Mrs. Marjorie Skeels, who celebrated her 100th birthday.

Born in Birmingham in 1903, Marjorie, an only child, married a man who was mad on fishing on April 17,1920.

She too became a keen angler herself and with their camper van, the couple went on fishing trips all over the country.

Marjorie's husband died in 1970 and after a few years she came to Pembrokeshire to live with her only daughter, Mrs. Enid Heath, of Pentle Drive, Pentlepoir.

Marjorie has led a very active life and loved dancing to Old Time music several times a week, until the age of 80.

At the age of 97, she moved to Pencoed Care Home at Wooden, where she continues to be outgoing and lives life to the full.

Her last outing was several weeks ago when she celebrated her 100th birthday by visiting Carmarthen to see the Moscow State Circus for the very first time.
