On Saturday, Area 46 of Ladies Circle handed over an amazing £15,698.39 to Ty Hafan. Tenby Ladies Circle proposed the Area Project last April, and through the year many Circles across the area have been working hard to raise money for such a worthwhile cause to support the children's hospice for Wales.

Tenby themselves were extremely proud of their cheque, a sum of £11,400 which they raised through a number of events, including the usual sale of Welsh cakes, a kids disco, selling baps at the carnival, a golf charity day, a grand raffle, a fashion show, the Boxing Day swim and many other fund raisers. The girls were delighted with their efforts and agreed the hard work had been worthwhile.

Tenby have been supported throughout their year by local organisations and friends and would like to say a big thank you to all those who generously supplied them with prizes, donations and sponsorship. Without the local support they are sure the final sum would not have been such a good one, and the girls are very grateful to all those who dipped into their pockets.

A nice surprise on the night before the main proceedings was the presentation of a cheque to Tenby Ladies Circle by the chairman of Round Table, Chris Evans - a wonderful sum of £500. Due to the boys holding the summer events, the girls were able to raise a lot their funds back in August.

The grand cheque presentation was held at Tenby Golf Club on Saturday night, after an excellent meal catered for by the stewards of the club. They would like to thank the stewards for all their help and efforts in making the evening such a success.

After the meal, chairman Dilys Jenkinson spoke on behalf of Tenby Ladies Circle and then the Area treasurer, Jayne Rees, presented the cheque to the Ty Hafan representatives, Phillip Thomas and Jenny Davitt.

After a few more speeches and the drawing of the raffle, the evening finished, certainly on a high for Tenby Ladies Circle and the girls from Area 46.
