Sir,

We would like to pass on thanks to the Fourcroft Hotel for so enthusiastically agreeing to host monthly film screenings for their clientele, both residents and locals.

It has been noted in these pages that Tenby is in need of a cinema, and while this is unfortunately not on the horizon, at least this will provide an alternative.

Films4Tenby (see us on Facebook!) is a group of local volunteers aiming to help with the organisation and administration of this initiative, and is proposing My Week with Marilyn as the initial offering on Monday, May 7, at 8 pm (all welcome, entry by donation). It is the film of the book about a young man who was a 'gofer' for Marilyn Monroe when she made a film in the UK.

We would also like to thank everyone who has helped by sending in nomination forms, which have led us to consider a mixture of recent films such as the Iron Lady, the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Help, The Artist and Warhorse, and iconic golden oldies such as Brief Encounter, Casablanca, and Midnight in Paris.

Finally, thanks to the De Valence and Dales Music Store for collecting the nomination films, and to everyone who helped distribute them.

Anne Draper and

Val Coates-Rees.
