In a storyline that encourages children to be artistic, ‘The Artistic Fairy’ (published by AuthorHouse UK) strikes a balance between the concepts of giving, receiving and being creative.
Author Cilaye Watson, a mother of four, wanted to inspire and entertain children, so she conceived the idea of a mystical book series with life lessons woven through the storylines. ‘The Artistic Fairy’, the first instalment, follows the adventure of two little girls, Leah and Amy, as they show how well friends can communicate and get along on an artistic adventure.
The story is based on a tale from the author’s childhood, when parents of a friend, called Fiona, told them if they left letters under a big, old tree in their garden that fairies would write letters back.
“I want readers, especially parents, to take with them the fact that encouraging their children to be artistic and creative is a great thing,” Watson explains. “It opens the mind to infinite possibilities. And that it’s so lovely for children to get along well and be giving and kind, and where this is, a happy ending is not far behind.”
