Wartime warrior Winston Churchill took time off from pressing matters of state to star at the Forties Dance at the Garrison Chapel, Pembroke Dock, on Saturday.
Churchill - better known locally as Sunderland Trust volunteer Barry Clark, of Monkton - made a grand entrance, supported by his own 'Clementine', his wife Margaret.
They joined hundreds of dance goers - many in period dress code - who enjoyed a splendid nostalgia night with music by the Dave Barry Big Band from Neath. Entertainer Paul Henry, of Milford Haven, supported and the excellent catering was by the Prince's Trust team from Pembroke Dock.
The dance, staged in the superb setting of the restored Garrison Chapel, was the finalé of another successful series of Forties events organised by the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust, which plans to set up a visitor centre at the chapel.
