St. Mary's Church, Tenby, is abalaze with colour for the annual flower festival.

Held in conjunction with Tenby in Bloom, the five-day floral spectacular opened yesterday (Thursday) and is expected to be visited by hundreds of local residents and visitors to the town.

A total of 36 pretty arrangements on the theme 'A walk to the kingdom of heaven' have been created by churches, groups and organisations for the event, which runs until Monday.

There are also 240 floral posies in memory of loved ones attached to the pews in aisles and choir stalls.

During the festival, there will be musical items and prayers each hour on the hour, while on Sunday night there will be a United Hymns of Praise at 6 pm.

Proceeds from this year's Flower Festival will be shared between Macmillan Nurses and the Tenby ATC minbus appeal.

The festival is open from 10 am until 9 pm, but closes on Monday at 6 pm and refreshments are being served in Church House from 10 am until 5 pm.
