Winners of the St. Nicholas and St. John Church, Monkton Priory, Pembroke, Christmas tree festival have been announced.

Special guests Mayor and Mayoress of Pembroke, Clr. Keith and Mrs. Karen Nicholas, had the unenviable task of choosing the best trees.

The trees were decorated using recycled or environmentally friendly materials featuring an interpretation of St. Nicholas.

Winners were as follows:

Schools and youth groups section

1. Monkton Priory CP School Foundation Phase; 2. Monkton Priory Community School Priory Project; 3. Priory Youth Group; 4. Pembroke Dock CP craft club (milk bottle creation).

Adult section

1. The Nativity (Barbara Ambrose); 2. Christmas on the farm (Lyn, Jayne and Chippy); 3. Mencap Gardens, Stackpole; 4. Choir (Marion Moss).
