Families in Monkton got their fingers sticky at a workshop to create recycled Christmas decorations for the Monkton Priory Church Christmas Tree Festival.

Using glue and old newsletters, card and old wrapping paper, a wonderful array of bells, baubles, stars and chains emerged during the day.

They were arranged on two trees the Old Priory Inn Community Project has entered into the festival. One of the trees, a living rooted tree, was donated by B&Q in Pembroke Dock and this will be donated to the church for planting in the churchyard.

Parents, children and teachers from the local primary school were assisted by the Communities First Team and Maggie and Shelly from the Old Priory Inn Café.

The trees were then put on display during the Christmas Tree Festival at the beginning of December, which was a great success.

All the trees, created by many community groups, looked wonderful around the church and all had different and interesting creations.
