Pembrokeshire police are issuing a message in a bid to ensure everyone has a crime-free Christmas. The division has one of the lowest crime rates in the country, but police are urging people not to make criminals' lives easy. PC Sue Blacklaw-Jones, of Pembrokeshire Community Safety Partnership, said: "By taking a few simple steps you can deter any opportunist thief and keep yourself and your family safe and free to enjoy Christmas and New Year." Top crime prevention tips include: • Not leaving your Christmas presents under the tree or in sight of a window. • Do not leave Christmas presents on display in your car and ensure it is locked and secured. • Dispose carefully of any boxes or packaging so you are not advertising the new goods you have just been given. • Register your goods on immobilise.com - its free and if your possessions are lost or stolen they will be circulated on the UK National Police Stolen Property Database. • When on a night out ensure you stay with your friends, stick to well lit areas and plan how you are getting home before you go out.
