Saundersfoot will be getting all lit up for Christmas today (Friday) when a lantern parade heralds the arrival of Santa to the village and the opening of its three-day festive market.
Organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, the St. Nicholas Christmas Market takes place in and around a heated marquee on the harbourside.
There will be over 50 stalls offering a range of Yuletide goodies, complemented by chef demonstrations and live music.
Saundersfoot CP School choir get the event underway at 2 pm this afternoon, ahead of the 5.30 pm lantern parade led by Santa.
Hundreds of twinkling lights will feature in the procession, with the schoolchildren inviting all members of the community to join the procession.
This will make its way over to the harbour decking for the switch-on of its illuminations and carol-singing.
The market is open between 10 am and 7 pm tomorrow (Saturday), when family-friendly chef Lisa Fearn will be in Kitchen Corner. She will be demonstrating some of the festive recipes from her new book, Blas: Taste, which is a celebration of family and food, and also inviting youngsters to join her in a gingerbread-icing workshop at noon.
On Sunday, Guy Morris, of Pembrokeshire company, uChef, is the guest in Kitchen Corner, with frozen Christmas cocktails and seasonal soups included on his menu.
Sunday’s opening hours are 10 am to 5 pm.
Santa will be in his grotto on both days and there will also be a display by Pembrokeshire Falconry.
Unlimited admission to the market is £2 (free for accompanied under 12s), which covers the whole weekend and includes free entry into the grand market draw for prizes donated by stallholders and Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism members.
