Father Christmas will be paying a special visit to Pembroke Dock tomorrow (Saturday). Because of a lack of floats for the proposed Winter Carnival which was also scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday), it has been decided that that part of the Christmas celebrations in the town will be cancelled. However, Father Christmas will still be coming to the town tomorrow evening and he will be welcomed at the Memorial Park at 6.30 pm by the Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Sue Perkins, before proceeding by 'sleigh' along Bush Street and Lower Meyrick Street, accompanied by the Pembroke Silver Band. There will be singing of carols around the Christmas tree before a fireworks display from the Martello Gun Tower at approximately 7.30 pm. "We hope that the celebrations will be supported by residents and visitors of the town," said town clerk, Ian Jones.
