THE Dyfed Choir were last heard in this area in September when they gave an acclaimed performance of the Rachmaninov Vespers at the Tenby Arts Festival.
This fine choir has played a leading role in the choral music of West Wales since 1967 and there will be another opportunity to hear them at St. Issell's, Saundersfoot, on Saturday, December 6, at 7.30 pm.
The choir's programme is a traditional one of carols and readings, which start with Gregorian Plainsong and includes some less often heard such as The Sussex Carol, O Little One Sweet (arr J. S. Bach) and the Wexford Carol.
The audience will be invited to participate in the singing of well-known carols.
Carols by Rutter, Berlioz, Bruckner, and the Whitland born William Mathias, will be joined by pieces arranged by Tim Noon, the choir's music director.
An evening of fine music is promised to set the tempo for the season.
