Haverfordwest Ladies Choir recently took part in the Macmillan Big Coffee Morning event. Choir member Frances Oates requested the fundraising pack and invited the other members to join her at her home near Kilgetty, where an amount of just over £160 was raised for this very worthwhile cause.
Following the coffee morning, the ladies stayed on and enjoyed lunch together as part of their regular social get-togethers.
The choir are now looking forward to continuing their autumn programme raising money for local charities with a variety of concerts, and very much looking forward to their next concert on Saturday, November 4, at Albany Church, Haverfordwest, where the concert in aid of Prostate Cymru will begin at 7.30 pm.
The ladies will be joined by Cwm Cerwyn Ensembles. Formed originally as friends enjoying music together for fun, the talented group, Angharad Howells (violin), Katy Richards (viola), Isobel Jones (violin) and Katina Andreou (’cello), are now busy all year round at various events including weddings, concerts and charity events, so they along with members of the choir will be happy to help raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.
The host for the evening will be Bill Carne, so the audience can look forward to an enjoyable and entertaining evening. Tickets are available from Judith Griffiths on 01437 781520.
The choir will soon start rehearsing for their annual Christmas concert. Anyone interested in joining the choir is welcome to go along to Albany Church Hall, Hill Street, Haverfordwest, on Thursday night, at 7.30 pm.
