The Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir gave a recital of traditional Welsh airs and popular music from the shows to a group of visitors from the Midlands staying at Tenby's Giltar Hotel, last Saturday.

The choir opened with a rousing 'Gwahodaidd' and 'Alexanders Rag Time Band' and, during their programme sang such numbers as 'Portrait of My Love,' 'American Trilogy' and 'All in an April Evening', while in 'Cymru Fach', Joan Lewis, soprano, sang the solo part.

During the evening solo items were given by Alyson Griffiths, flute, who played 'Stranger on the Shore' and the Lloyd Webber piece from Jesus Christ Superstar, 'I Don't Know How To Love Him', bass Owen Jones sang 'An Erisky Lovelilt' an Hebridean Folk Song and tenor Henry Johnston 'I'll Walk with God' from The Student Prince, Sam Thomas baritone gave 'If I Ruled The World' and Joan Lewis, who had appeared earlier with the choir, sang 'Music of the Night' from the Phantom of the Opera and combined with Eric Rawles, tenor, to sing a romantic duet 'All I ask of You'.

The choir was conducted by David Gwynn and accompanied by Chris Lloyd, assisted by Alyson Griffiths, while Phil Lloyd compered the evening in his usual amusing and assured manner.
