Tenby Male Choir already looks forward to its 2003 programme, when it is to be involved in one of the biggest choral festivals ever staged in the world!

It has been invited to join 200 other male voice choirs from around the world to sing at the prestigious World of Male Voices concert to be staged at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday, July 13, 2003.

Already, choirs from the USA, Australia, South Africa and other parts of Europe, have accepted the invitation by World of Male Voices 2003 Ltd. Tenby Choir has a close personal contact with one of the festival organisers and therefore, was approached early. The committee were delighted to accept.

The festival is in support of the NSPCC Full Stop Campaign. In March 1999, the NSPCC set itself a target of raising £250m. in its campaign against cruelty to children and the World of Male Voices 2003 concert, will be part of the response to the NSPCC fund-raising target.

The concert will have up to 10,000 male voices led by the distinguished conductor Owain Arwel Hughes. Accompanied by the 78-strong BBC National Orchestra of Wales, this concert will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Willard White will be one of the soloists.

Tenby Male Choir is renowned for its charitable work. Over the past 26 years it has raised tens of thousands of pounds for very many charitable causes, and this concert will provide an opportunity for Tenby Male Choir to help to raise an enormous sum for a very worthy cause.
