The Wales Audit Office has confirmed it is examining a controversial severance deal worth £330,000 agreed with Pembrokeshire County Council's departing chief executive.
The deal was made following a row over cash payments to Mr. Bryn Parry-Jones in lieu of pension contributions, with councillors voting 29-23 in favour of the financial settlement at a behind closed doors meeting at County Hall in Haverfordwest last Thursday.
The county council announced that Mr. Parry-Jones, who is the highest paid council chief executive in Wales, would leave his post on October 31.
Dyfed-Powys Police said no further action would be taken following two investigations by officers called in from the Gloucestershire force.
