After the previous week's euphoria, it was back down to earth for the Chicken Trotters on Friday morning, as only 14 of our feathered friends deciding to leave the roost.
Maybe it was the stiff wind which kept most huddled in the hut, but they were the unlucky ones, for they missed another grand day on the links.
"It was a little disappointing after the big turnout the previous week," admitted head of the brood, Morran Boot, afterwards. "Hopefully, the sun will shine and there will be a greater clutch of chicks out this week."
Hopefully also, there will be an improvement in the par for the day, which at 18 last week dropped to what was thought to be an all-time low - an indication of the tricky conditions out on the course perhaps!
Not that Richard Morgan found them too difficult as his 25 points saw him take top perch, one better than nearest rival Ken Gouldsbrough on 24.
For their efforts, they pocketed £1.40 and £1, respectively.
Also in the money was club captain Idwal David, who pecked up 70p for the only two of the day, while Roy Morgan earned himself a free round courtesy of the booby prize.
And how many points did he get? Well, to spare his blushes, it was one better than Clifton John the previous week, but we'll leave regular readers to work it out for themselves.
