Chevron's Pembroke refinery is continuing to invest in future talent by awarding local students bursaries to study at university.
Three Pembrokeshire students have been awarded bursaries to study engineering at some of Britain's leading universities.
The bursary winners were Daniel Eade from Tasker Milward School, who will be studying chemical engineering at Swansea University; Hannah Emery from Greenhill School, who will study chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham; and, Jamie Taylor from Tasker Milward School, who will study mechanical engineering at Cardiff University.
Chevron set up its bursary scheme in 2006 to help develop local talent for the energy sector and to show the company's commitment to encouraging engineers of the future.
Chevron Refinery's general manager, Tom Kovar, said: "The energy sector is central to Pembrokeshire, so it's important we help to foster local talent to ensure we have the skills for the long-term. The bursaries will help young engineers along a career path that has personal development at its core."
Each student will be assigned to a business unit within the refinery where they will work during their summer holidays and for their 'Year in Industry' placement.
The students will be mentored throughout their time there to ensure they gain as much as possible from the experience.
At the end of the degree course, all the students will be entered into the graduate recruitment selection process.
This year's students visited the refinery in August for a celebratory lunch before starting their degrees later in September.
