Children from Chernobyl visited Tenby's all-weather lifeboat station, just one of many trips organised for them whilst in Pembrokeshire.

For most of them, it was their first view of a boat and the sea; they all had a great time and loved the whole concept of the RNLI explained through an interpreter (an English speaking school teacher from Belarus).

During the visit, the children got to grips with the lifeboat equipment, they dressed up as lifeboat crew and helped to wash the boat.

The children are staying with host families in the area to give them a chance to live in a 'clean' environment and eat uncontaminated foods for a month, which has been proven to extend their short life expectancy.
