A 'frightfully' successful charity event has seen a pub in Saundersfoot raise over £3,000 for Cancer Research Wales.

The Old Chemist Inn's recent Hallowe'en event saw a fun-packed day of fundraising, featuring raffle prizes and live entertainment, while two locals even shaved their heads for the cause.

"This year was a record year, raising £3,310 in aid of Cancer Research Wales, so we're delighted that everyone showed so much support for the event," said Dai Lawrence, of the inn, which is located on The Strand.

"A big thanks go to Jamie Owen, of Felinfoel Brewery, Molson Coors, Welsh Cider Company, Andrew Rees, Priory Farm, Celtic Wine, Pembrokeshire Financial Services and all local suppliers, too numerous to mention, for their kind donations.

"A huge thanks also goes to Dan Cogin and Chris Evans for joining in with the fun and getting their heads shaved for the cause, while a special thanks goes out to Butch and Max Cole for supplying a brilliant afternoon of entertainment and, last but by no means least, our gratitude goes to Pat Field and Lizzie Watkins for all their hard work," he added.

The Old Chemist Inn and the Cross Inn, Broadmoor, which are run by Dai and his wife Mandy, are both open over the festive period.
