The Rotary Club of Saundersfoot celebrated their 36th year of Charter with a dinner at the St. Brides Hotel last week.

The evening started on a sad note, with president Mac Walapu asking for a minute's silence as a mark of respect for the loss of Pat Patel, who had been a long-serving member of the club. Condolences were expressed for his wife Ivy 'Maggie' and Pat's family.

More than 50 Rotarians, partners and guests attended the dinner, including District Governor Mike Parry and his wife Kay.

Club president Mac Walapu re-capped on the significant events during the year and thanked the members for their enthusiasm and support.

The guest speaker was Dr. Gustav Vas Falcao, who gave a fascinating talk about Indian culture, with the help of some beautiful photographs.

Paul Harris Fellowships were awarded to Maurice Caine, Tom Ellis, Norman Spence and Haydn Williams. Such awards are the highest accolade that can be presented to a Rotarian, and on this occasion, the District Governor, Mike Parry, presented them.

At the close of the evening, club president Mac Walapu thanked the guests for their support and the staff at the hotel for the service provided.
