Texaco's charity weekend of family entertainment over the Whitsun Bank Holiday at the end of May is being extended into June with three more concerts in various West Wales locations.

Cathead Dooly, the highly popular southern country rock band from Macon, Georgia, will be on the road, together with Annmarie Riley, with their show entitled 'Rebel Rock and Riley' to Tenby, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest.

Pembrokeshire will get a taste of their country style 'down on the farm' when they perform in the South Wales Male Choir's opening concert, 'Sounds of Wales', at the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm, on Saturday, May 29.

"Variety of music is the essence of live quality entertainment," said producer, Phil Howells.

"Having one of Wales's leading male choirs, plus vocal and instrumental soloists and an American country music band together on the same bill proved highly successful last year and the 15 minute set from the cowboys encouraged people who hadn't heard their music before back for a 'toe-tapping hand-clapping' extravaganza on the Monday.

"Already music lovers have bought tickets for all three events," he added.

Saturday's line-up, in aid of The Lady Taverners, with 100 choristers from Cor Meibion De Cymru under the baton of the inimitable Haydn James and accompanist Sian Gwawr with tenor soloist Peter Totterdale, from St. Clears, includes violin virtuoso Rakhi Singh and Annmarie Riley, who performs with both the choir and 'Cathead Dooly'.

Sunday night's 'Good Lord, Goes West!' charity dinner in aid of St. John Ambulance, hosted by Lord Parry of Neyland, will be attended by various members from the Palace of Westminster plus celebrities, while on Monday, May 31, the first 'Rebel Rock and Riley' gig kicks off for four concerts, with the Follies Theatre night in aid of NCH Cymru.

Wednesday, June 2, sees Cathead Dooly and Annmarie at the De Valence, Tenby, in aid of Tenby Lifeboat (tickets available from Dales Music).

On Thursday, June 3, they're at the Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen, in aid of Wales Air Ambulance, and Friday, June 4, sees the final event, 'Triple R Hoe Down', at Withybush Showground, with support from Pembroke's 'Suburban Soul Band' in aid of both Withybush Hospital League of Friends and the Special Learning Centre, Pembroke School, which looks to be a great way to finish Cathead Dooly's 2004 tour.
