A 'CLASSIC' journey is sure to be on the cards for Ben Parris, of Saundersfoot's Merlewood Hotel, when he embarks on a charity trek along The Great Wall of China next year. Ben has been granted a place to trek alongside Nick Bailey, a presenter on Classic FM, with the journey organised to raise money for the new charity,  Classic FM Music Makers, which was set up in 2006 with the aim of raising money to fund children's and adults music therapy and education projects across the UK. Ben will be part of a group of 40 that will embark on the 10-day trip, with six days trekking. Departing next March, the journey will take the fund-raisers up ancient steps, viewing stunning scenery and passing through local villages into the heart of China, and into the depths of China's astounding history. The Great Wall, known in China as The Ten Thousand Li Wall, is comprised of various walls built between the fifth century BC and 16th century, and is the longest manmade structure on earth.  Each trekker is given a target of £2,800 to raise for the charity, with anyone wishing to sponsor Ben able to visit his webpage at http://www.justgiving.com/">www.justgiving.com/ benparris Donating through the site is simple, fast and totally secure, and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28 per cent in tax will be added to your donation to Classic FM Music Makers at no cost to you.
