During Breast Awareness month in October, the pupils of Mrs. Denise Towns, swimming teacher at Narberth Pool, completed a sponsored swim in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

Mrs. Towns said that in her capacity as president of the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, she had chosen Breast Cancer Research as her president's charity for the coming year.

The children, along with Joan Parry and Trudy Johns, grandmother and auntie of Chloe and Jarred Parry, swam, skipped, hopped or walked across the widths.

The older children swam lengths along with Joan and Trudy, raising the amazing total amount of £900.

Mrs. Towns wishes to thank all those who gave so generously and especially the children who participated on the day.
