With the death of Mrs. Louise Spain on the January 21 last, Tenby lost one of its most dedicated workers for the Cancer Research Campaign, as it was known some 30 years ago.
As well as coffee mornings and raffles, under Louise's guidance, we started a 'good as new shop', selling used clothing and household goods from a number of shops in town; mostly gift shops closed for the winter.
We were so successful that the head office of Cancer Research became interested in Tenby and opened the official Tenby Research Campaign shop in Tudor Square, where it still does an excellent trade.
Louise will be sadly missed by all who knew her; a dear friend and colleague.
