Sir, Graham and myself would publicly like to thank everyone involved with TheDaftWayRound.Com Charity Rock Concert that took place at the De Valence Pavilion, Tenby, last Saturday evening. This successful event raised £1,000 for TheDaftWayRound.Com charity appeal - in conjunction with UNICEF 'Born Free From HIV' worldwide campaign. We would like to thank Clare Porter and her staff at the De Valence, Will Scott and Loose Change band, Nick Thomas and his newly formed band 'Off The Cuff' and the ever-smiling Ritchie and Arlene from Elephant Gerald, who played what must be the finest set I have ever heard them play. Highlight of the evening was a drum solo performed by Steve from Elephant Gerald, who we managed to persuade to perform dressed as a gorilla - his rendition of Phil Collins 'In The Air Tonight' a la the Cadbury's advert brought about a standing ovation. Thanks also go to Bruce Campbell from New Hedges, who couldn't make the concert due to a prior commitment in Cardiff, but freely gave up his time and PA equipment on Friday afternoon to set up the sound system. We would also like to thank all of our personal and company sponsors, as well as the people who attended the concert and dug deep into their pockets to support the raffle. This must have been a good evening as we even had Mike John, the vicar from St. Mary's Church in attendance and, whilst he had to leave early to prepare his sermon for the following day and missed the dancing, he was spotted tapping both feet enthusiastically at one point. Finally, Graham and myself would like to thank our 'long suffering' partners, Jane and Debs, who throughout the intensive three months planning that went into this event, have remained entirely supportive with never a cross word (well nearly almost). Oddly enough, we're now talking about organising another 'charity musical event' in the town - watch this space If any of your readers would like to follow our progress and even support us with a donation, they can do so from our website http://www.TheDaftWayRound.Com">www.TheDaftWayRound.Com
