A Pembrokeshire charity recently benefited following fundraising at E. C. Thomas and Son, funeral directors, Llanteg and Pembroke Dock.
Owners Stewart and Elizabeth Treharne were pleased to recently attend a service at St. Clements Church, Neyland, celebrating 30 years of HOPE.
This charity assists local people suffering with Multiple Sclerosis, together with those recovering stroke, the centre also being utilised by the Parkinsons Group.
A tour of the impressive facilities followed the service and it became evident that the community benefits greatly, not only from the treatment available, but also the social interaction which the HOPE centre offers.
Run on a voluntary basis, the greatest source of funding comes from the generosity of the local community and local business.
Stewart and Elizabeth were pleased to present a cheque for £750 to help towards the continuing service to the community provided by HOPE.
This sum was raised through staff events during the year and at the annual remembrance service at Zoar Chapel, Llanteg, when families attending gave generously towards this charity.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone for donating, especially the families who have experienced bereavement during the past year and are invited to the remembrance service to spend some time to remember in quiet reflection,” said Stewart and concluded: “We wish continued success to HOPE in the future.”
