Ever wanted to see just how good you are at pool? Well, your opportunity has arrived!

Former world pool champion, Carl Morris is rolling into town, and will be making an appearance at Llanmiloe Social Club, Pendine, at 8 pm tomorrow (Saturday) to give the public a chance to beat one of the world's leading pool players!

Carl Morris, who is profoundly deaf and has a hearing dog called Ingle, said: "Before I had Ingle, life wasn't easy, especially as a professional pool player since I was always surrounded by groups of people, and I found it difficult. Since I have had Ingle, my life has changed for the better - I am now more confident and the most important thing is I have total independence."

Funds raised on the night will be going to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. This innovative and unique way of fund-raising gives something in return to those who donate.

The exhibition night will be part of the Llanmiloe Charity Singles League presentation night where the 16 pool players from the league will have a chance to beat Carl as well as four other places, which will be available to others on the night.

Jenny Moir, press officer for Hearing Dogs, said "What charity exhibitions are doing is an innovation and unique way to fund raise, and we are very pleased that they are doing this for Hearing Dogs.

"Hearing Dogs change lives. They alert their deaf owners to sounds we take for granted, providing greater independence, confidence and security. Most are selected from rescue centres or donated as unwanted pets."

Over 650,000 people in the UK are severely or profoundly deaf and could benefit from a hearing dog.

So, if you fancy your chances of beating Carl, why not come along and pit your skills against him but, win or lose, the true winner will be the charity, and your generosity will have helped to make a difference!
