Sir,
I write to draw readers' attention to a worthwhile cause taking place at Bowlings' Riding Stables, Rudbaxton, Haverfordwest, on Wednesday, June 16.
Masterminded by Mike Butcher, one of the top 10 disabled riders' instructors in the world, the Pembrokeshire charity 'Grand National' is partly a fun day for both disabled and able-bodied riders, but with the serious underlying purpose of fund-raising so that disabled riders may continue to derive inestimable benefit from close contact with horses.
Pembrokeshire College students on the Open College Network (OCN) course in Horse Care, under the tutelage of Mike Butcher, will be riding in the Pembs. Grand National with sponsorship to raise funds for disabled riders.
I am an OCN student on the course and am seeking sponsorship. If any readers are so-minded to support me in this very worthwhile, charitable cause, please contact me on: 07859 178059 or at: [email protected]">[email protected] o rat my home address.
However small the donation, it will be greatly appreciated. Sponsorship forms and further details of the event are being displayed around Tenby, but obviously you will need to see me in person in order to donate.
Ruthie Alton,
3 Islay Court,
Victoria Street,
Tenby.
