A TEENAGER hailed a hero after he saved his mother's life is teaming up with his dad later this month to raise funds for a charity which supports people with heart conditions.
Sixteen-year-old Aden Cotterill and dad Barry are holding a one-off free concert at Lamphey Village Hall on Saturday, December 19, in aid of the Arrhythmia Alliance - the heart rhythm charity.
Back in 2008, Aden's quick-thinking and emergency first aid almost certainly led to his mum, Viv, making a miraculous recovery after she fell seriously ill at home.
Viv suffers from an arrhythmia condition and Aden and Barry are hoping next weekend's concert will not only raise funds for the Arrhythmia Alliance (British Heart Foundation), but will also give people an opportunity to gain some information about this type of heart condition and very worthwhile charity.
Aden, who is in the second year of his music technology diploma course at Pembrokeshire College, plays the keyboard and has done so since the age of nine. He also plays the guitar, as does Barry, who has played for over 30 years. They also both sing.
In addition, for the concert, they will be joined by a very good friend of the family, Debbie Fiddy, of Manorbier, who is providing backing vocals and lead vocals for a few songs.
The event is being supported by the charity and information about the condition will be available during the evening.
Doors open at 7 pm, with the concert getting underway at 8 pm. Numbers are restricted, so it is best to arrive early. Refreshments will be available.
There are about 30 songs planned for the evening, five of which are their own compositions.
Music played will also include The Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Coldplay and many, many more.
