A cheque for a staggering £8,000 which has been raised locally over the past 12 months has been handed over to the cancer charity, Tenovus, by the Tenby and District branch. Included in the total was the magnificent sum of £3,000, which was raised by Mrs. Denise Towns and family and friends, through successful fund-raising events held at Swallowtree, Saundersfoot. The presentation to Simon Morgan Jones, Tenovus oncology nurse specialist, was made at the group's annual fork luncheon at the De Valence Pavilion on Friday by chairman, Maureen Webb. Seen with Simon and Maureen are vice-chairman Suzanne Bevan, treasurer John Hunting and secretary Elspeth Williams.
