DO you fancy climbing an active volcano, trekking up a glacier or hiking through Tibetan forests for a meeting with the Dalai Lama? National charity Meningitis Research Foundation is looking for adventure seekers to take part in events all over the world for the 2008 Charity Challenge. This is a unique opportunity to undertake a challenge that could change your life and support a worthy cause. There are a huge variety of expeditions to destinations around the globe - lasting from a few days to a few weeks - and all levels of fitness are catered for. If you don't fancy an adventure trip, you can take part in a Community Challenge project to help build houses for the poor in Asia or South America. Best of all, these trips are free if you raise the required amount of sponsorship, which makes the Charity Challenge a great way of realising your travelling dreams while contributing to the foundation's fight against meningitis and septicaemia. Alternatively, you can fund the trip yourself and a donation will be made to the foundation on your behalf. Iain Elliott, community fundraising manager for Meningitis Research Foundation, says: "The Charity Challenge is an event we look forward to all year. It allows people the chance to fulfil their 'trip of a lifetime' ambitions while raising vital funds for the foundation. I've yet to meet anyone who has taken up the challenge and hasn't returned with an enormous sense of well-being."
