A recent auction of European Cup tickets at Pembroke Refinery saw yet more much needed funds raised for Valero’s Charity of the Year.

Valero auctioned tickets to the Scarlets’ recent quarter-final match against French club La Rochelle to members of the refinery workforce. A final sum of £115 was raised from the draw, with all the proceeds going to Pembrokeshire Sibling Group, the refinery’s chosen charity for 2018.

Following the match - which saw the Scarlets win 29-17 - the winning raffle ticket holder, Mike Jones, met with Lisa van de Capelle and Melanie Kilminster from Pembrokeshire Sibling Group to hand over the donation.

Lee Hind, chair of Pembrokeshire Sibling Group, said: “This donation is a further great help to our efforts in supporting children with siblings affected by disabilities and additional needs. Our continued thanks go to Valero for all the support received so far during our year as the refinery’s charity.”

Refinery public affairs manager, Stephen Thornton, added: “Valero are delighted that our workforce have responded in such a positive fashion to support Pembrokeshire Sibling Group as our charity of the year. The work the charity does with children in the county is astounding and we hope this donation will further go towards helping them in their ambition to support kids and families in Pembrokeshire.”
