Cups clinked and cakes were munched when the staff at Pembroke Power Station joined in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan is one of RWE's main charities and the company's employees in Pembrokeshire were keen to do their bit to raise money.

Not only did the coffee morning raise £534 from the sale of food, hot drinks and a raffle, but a cheque for £5,127 was handed over to Macmillan by a team of cyclists from the power station.

The team had cycled to RWE npower's plant at Staythorpe in Nottinghamshire, a 300-mile route, to raise money for both the cancer charity and Angle RNLI.

Mair Lewis, community relations officer at Pembroke Power Station, said the combined total from the cycle ride and the coffee morning reflected the enthusiasm the staff had for charity fund-raising.
