Sir,
I am writing in the hope that some of your readers will be able to join the Anthony Nolan Trust in its fund-raising. We are looking for groups of people from across South Wales to meet together in coffee mornings or evenings and do small events to help us to raise money.
These groups can be great for people who are retired, out of work or simply finding themselves with a bit of time on their hands. Often working with a charity can mean just volunteering in shops, but with friends groups you meet new people, have full support from the area appeals manager and get to attend fantastic events with the knowledge that you helped arrange it and that the money raised will go straight to the Trust to help us to find more people to put on our donor register.
Leukaemia affects so many people and many of those need a transplant to survive. We hold a register of over 370,000 people who are willing to help a sufferer at any time, but it costs £70 to test and place donors on this list, and this is what we need fund-raisers to help us achieve.
If you feel that you would like to help out, please contact me.
