Homeowners of Paxton Court Apartments in Tenby wish to thank the many individuals and businesses who contributed to their extremely successful fundraising event in aid of Parkinson’s UK and West Wales Prostate Cancer Research Group. Seventy-five ticket holders enjoyed the opportunity to socialise in the communal areas whilst being served Prosecco and mouth-watering canapés.

Notable local businesses who supported the event with donations or raffle prizes included T.P. Hughes Interiors, M and Co, Park Road Fish and Chips, Baytree Restaurant, The Jazz, Moshulu, Holland and Barrett, Boots, Birt and Co, The Cranny and Pencader Bakery.

The photograph shows Ken Jones from West Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group and Sylvie Morgan, a resident of Paxton Court and representing Parkinson’s UK, receiving their cheques for £672 and £584, respectively, from David Hughes, Duncan McNally and Sue McNally, of the Paxton Court social committee, at their weekly meeting.

Ken explained that his support group had recently purchased three bladder scanners for the Hywel Dda NHS Trust at a cost of £17,500 each, paid £50,000 towards the Prostate Cancer Research Wales Project and £28,000 towards funding Macmillan nurses to help prostate cancer sufferers.

Sylvie explained that the money would be gratefully received by Parkinson’s UK as a valued contribution towards research into this debilitating neurological condition.
