THIS (Friday) evening, the South Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen West Constituency Labour Party hold their Annual Dinner at The Fourcroft Hotel, Tenby. The dinner is hosted by the Tenby and District Branch of the Labour Party and will be attended by Nick Ainger MP, his wife Sally, Alun Davies AM, Joyce Watson AM and over 70 members of constituency branches.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Kim Howells, MP for Pontypridd for the last 20 years. Until last summer, he served as Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office with special responsibility for the Middle East, Counter Terrorism and the United Nations. His profile was raised when he maintained this very difficult portfolio as the Foreign Office and as a result he was awarded 'MP of the Year' at the Welsh Political Awards in 2007.

Pursuing his many different political responsibilities over the years, Dr. Kim Howells is renowned for his plain speaking and was in the past a critic of devolution. His visit to a crowded Branch Meeting at St. Teilo's Church Hall, Tenby, in 2007, was enthusiastically received. Labour Party members will be delighted to listen to the charismatic speaker once again, this time at their annual dinner as guest of honour. He will be accompanied by his wife, Eirlys.
