On Saturday, Bethel Congregational Chapel organised its annual bicycle treasure hunt.
Although it clashed with several other events in the area, it did proved not only financially successful, but a very pleasant day which was enjoyed by all the competitors. The only complaint was ‘can you find a flat course?’ Sorry we do not have level roads around Llanddewi.
The course took the riders through Llanfallteg, Llandissilio, Clunderwen back to Llanfallteg and up the hill to where they started from, with all looking tired, thirsty after eight miles, but obviously enjoyed the challenge.
They were pleasantly surprised on entering the hall to see such a variety of food and drink that had been prepared.
The deserving winning team were Katie and Jacob Eynon, Clunderwen, and second was Gareth Roblin, Clunderwen Farm, and Sabastian Howells, Upper Fron.
The minister, Rev. Guto Llywelyn entered, but did not win, although all the other competitors were very envious of hid up market bicycle. Thanks were extended to the organisers Eric Howells and Tudor Eynon, the stewards Mr. and Mrs. Talfan Evans, Howard Eynon and Pamela Lewis and Eileen Lewis for organising and preparing the food. To the competitors who enjoyed the afternoon, we organisers will live up to our promise and organise another one next year.
