Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism is helping the village's chefs 'meat' the cost of catering for this weekend's Cawl Cooking Championships of the World....and Elsewhere.
For the first time, the Chamber is sponsoring the cost of the Welsh lamb that will feature in over 5,000 portions of the tasty traditional delicacy which are due to be served up in the cawl trail, which is one of the highlights of the annual St. David's Food and Craft Festival.
The lamb will be supplied by Saundersfoot butcher Paul Heywood in time for the chefs in 11 local eating establishments to each cook up their special cawl recipe.
Visitors buy their own commemorative cawl bowl from the festival marquee on the harbour as their ticket to the trail, and the keenly-contested contest is judged on their taste-test.
The cawl trail takes place between 11 am and 3 pm tomorrow (Saturday), while the festival is open between 10 am and 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am and 5 pm on Sunday.
