A local luxury cottage resort has been listed amongst the Sunday Times '100 best holidays for summer 2011.' The report covered what the paper considered were the top locations in Europe for quality and value.

The Celtic Haven Spa Resort, based at Lydstep Bay, was selected as the first resort to be praised by the paper's chief travel writer Stephen Bleach. He highlighted its 'proper cottages' that date back to the 12th century and also commended the resort on its 'gorgeous views' and gave the ultimate accolade when he summed up the resort as simply "perfect!"

Philip Evans, chairman of Celtic Haven, commented: "I am delighted to see that our very special resort has achieved such high level recognition. At a time when we are faced with huge competition from multi-national companies and heavily discounted log cabin village locations, it is fantastic to see that the real 'Welsh Cottage' experience is still recognised as the best.

"We are proud to still be a privately owned, family business which has enjoyed looking after our valued clients for over 30 years. This means a great deal to all of my team, who are dedicated to supplying a luxury holiday experience in these amazing surroundings."

Celtic Haven is built on an historic headland site, being the former estate of Lord St. David. It boasts cottages and houses sleeping from two to 12, an Elemis Premier Spa, clifftop restaurant and scenic coastal walks through the National Park overlooking the Atlantic and the nearby monastic island of Caldey. Free use of all the resort's leisure facilities, including sauna, gym, indoor swimming pool, all-weather tennis courts and the nine-hole headland golf course, is also included for all guests.
