THREE KEY PRINCIPLES WE MUST APPLY TO REGAIN CONTROL OF OUR BODY’S ACCELERATED AGING PROCESS
These next steps will reveal the three things we must avoid if we want to burn off unwanted age-related stomach fat, regain lost muscle and get our lean, fit and youthful body back.
1. Chronic cardio increases belly fat and speeds aging. Too many think that cardio is the answer to everything related to weight and fat-loss. Doing conventional long, slow, steady cardio overtaxes our body and increases the production of the stress hormone ‘cortisol’, which causes us to gain belly fat. Also, doing long frequent cardio sessions break down our lean muscles and increase the production of free radicals. Free radicals are nasty little molecules that damage cells and cause chronic inflammation that accelerates aging.
2. Lack of sleep causes stubborn middle-age belly fat. As we get busier, getting enough sleep becomes a big issue. Although our body is resilient and can handle a lot of stress, there’s one thing it cannot cope well without……and that is sleep. When we are sleep deprived our body becomes overwhelmed with the stress hormone ‘cortisol’, which loves to deposit fat around our belly. Unfortunately, we can’t exercise or diet our way to a flat stomach, if cortisol is the cause of the problem. We need to get quality sleep…… period.
3. Sit-ups and crunches do not effectively reduce our belly fat. Unfortunately, these exercises are not getting to the heart of the abdominal flab problem. In fact, doing excessive ab-targeted moves can injure our lower backs by causing unnecessary stress on the spine. The purpose of our ab muscles is to prevent excessive bending and twisting. The cause of fat accumulation in the stomach area is due to hormonal changes in our body that occur as we get older. That means we have to stimulate the right biochemical processes to re-activate our lagging hormones to effectively slow the aging process and burn off stubborn middle-age stomach fat.
The key to a scientifically-proven method is based on doing specific exercises performed at high intensity for a short duration, where we workout hard for a short period of time to get the best result possible. The results are intensity dependant… not time dependant. Be willing to give your best effort.
