RESOLUTION RULES

We’ve got more and more new gadgets, bigger gym spaces and access to more training information, but, fundamentally, very little has actually changed over the past decade. Core principles don’t change. What works is very simple and, to most people, pretty unsexy.

When making fitness resolutions, we should consider:

1. There is no magic diet. We should base our core habits around quality, fresh produce; 2. There is no perfect routine. The best programme is the one that we enjoy and will do;. 3. One size does not fit all. Everything has worked for someone at some point, but that does not mean it will work for us. It takes time to get it right, so be patient and focus on what works best for you and your goals; 4. Progress is not always steady. It’s not about what changed this week; it’s about what changes over the course of several months; 5. Movement is as important as exercise. A regular gym routine does wonders for strength, health and fitness, but those in the best physical and mental shape make time for 30 minutes of activity a day - and that includes walking.

As you think about your resolutions think about this:

‘Good, Better, Best….

Never let it rest….

Until your good is better….

And your better is best!’
